Book Appointment →- Bacterial contamination from re-used paste. Many sugaring studios re-use the same ball of paste across multiple body areas. Even with "no double-dipping" claims, bacteria transfer is common.
- Inadequate skin prep. Sugaring requires bone-dry skin. Residual moisture, lotion, or sweat under the paste causes folliculitis.
- Pulling against grain incorrectly. Sugaring should be flicked WITH the grain. When techs pull against it (a common mistake), hairs break under the surface and become ingrown.
- No post-treatment antibacterial. Open follicles need an antibacterial barrier within 4 hours of hair removal.
How Long Does Post-Sugaring Irritation Last?
