After your wax, it's tempting to apply your usual products. But freshly waxed skin has open pores and micro-abrasions that make it extremely reactive. The wrong product can turn a great wax into a painful, bumpy disaster.
Products to AVOID for 24-48 Hours After Waxing
Perfume & Body Spray
Contains alcohol that burns open follicles and fragrances that cause allergic reactions on sensitized skin
Deodorant & Antiperspirant
Aluminum compounds and alcohol irritate freshly waxed underarms. Can cause chemical burns and dark spots
Self-Tanner & Bronzer
Applies unevenly to freshly exfoliated skin. Can stain open pores, creating dark dots
Retinol & AHA/BHA Products
Too aggressive for post-wax skin. Can cause peeling, redness, and sensitivity
Scented Lotions & Body Butter

Special Tips for Underarm Waxing
The underarm area is particularly tricky because we normally apply deodorant daily. After an underarm wax:
- • Skip deodorant for 24-48 hours
- • Rinse underarms with cool water if needed
- • Use a natural crystal deodorant stone (no chemicals)
- • Wear a loose cotton shirt to minimize sweating
- • After 48 hours, switch to an aluminum-free deodorant first
