## What to wear to a waxing appointment What you wear matters both before and after your wax. Freshly waxed skin is warm and slightly sensitive for 24 to 48 hours, so friction from tight seams or synthetic fabric is the main cause of bumps and irritation. Loose cotton is the rule for every service. ### Brazilian or bikini wax **Wear:** loose cotton underwear, a flowy skirt or loose pants, a cotton dress, or anything with an elastic waistband. **Avoid:** tight jeans or leggings, thong or lace underwear, synthetic fabrics, shapewear and compression wear. ### Leg wax **Wear:** loose pants or wide-leg trousers, a flowy maxi skirt or dress, shorts if the weather allows, or lightweight joggers. **Avoid:** skinny jeans, tight leggings, pantyhose or tights, and knee-high boots that rub. ### Underarm wax **Wear:** a tank top, a loose t-shirt, a button-down shirt or a sports bra for easy access. **Avoid:** tight fitted tops, wool or rough fabrics, and anything you have to pull off over your head. ### Full body wax **Wear:** a loose cotton two-piece outfit, a comfortable robe, a loose dress with easy access, or a button-down shirt with loose pants. **Avoid:** complicated layers, tight clothing anywhere, and delicate fabrics that snag. ### After your appointment Keep the loose clothing on for the rest of the day, skip the gym and hot showers for 24 hours, and choose cotton over synthetics while the skin settles.
